14th July: Friendly Match Against Matthewians

Swarovski 7 - 6 Matthewians

No Retreat! No Surrender!

An astonishing fought back victory by the Swan on last Saturday 7-a-side game against the Matthewians.

With most of the startups have been out for trip or personal matters, the swan squad were barely composed by Ming, OK Man, Kwan, Ho, Chris, Ernest, Kenneth and loan players Shun and Lam.

The Matthewians dominance the game soon after the start and they have scored 2 goals in the first 20 minutes of the game. Undoubtly the Matthewians have a better side on teamwork and physical as their average age is around 10 years younger than the Swans.

Kenneth scored a goal back on the 25 minutes but the Matty scored 3 more just before the break which made the score 1-5.

After the break, the Matty scored another fast break goal and seems the Swan has already surround to the game.

Warriors Ming, Chris, Ernest, Shun and Lam turned around the game. With just 20 minutes, Shun, Ming and Chris scored to the opposite side goalie and made the score 4-5.

The game is decided to seperate into 3 periods because of the desert like weekend.

The swan pressurized the Matty and the reward gets repaid with only 10 mins before the end of the game. Our hot scoring winger Chris put the ball in the goalie with a power stroke and the scored tied 6 - 6.
Swarovski soon realized a tie would not be enough and Ming scored the winning goal with just 5 minutes to the end.

7th July: Friendly Match Against Bayer Group

Bayer 2 - 3 Swarovski

The UNBEATEN run continues...

Two late goals from Martin Rainer and Martin Gattinger seals the win for the swan.

The game was play at 1:00pm - 2:30pm during the sunny hot burning summer afternoon but all the players from both teams shown their sportmanship till the end of the game.

Collecting a pass from Ming, Kenneth spotted goalkeeper off his line and headed the ball into the net to score Swarovski first just 10 minutes of the game.

But the Bayer made some extrordinary passes and runs soon after they heat up by the stove-like sun, and they got repaid at 30 minutes and the Bayers beat the Swan temp Goalie Ernest Kwok with a lovely vollie.

The melted swan was unable to find a space for the 2nd goal and and the Bayer took the front on a fast break just before half time.

The swan keep presuring the Bayers but they manage their goalkeeper made a few desent saves. Our offense side (M & M, Ming and Roman's son the 16 yrs old rookie Felix) were hardly find a route to the opponents goalie.

Swan finally broke through in the 45th minute when another Ming found M.Gattinger, who hooked the ball past the Bayer with a power jam.

The scores stayed ties at 2-2 and the Swan Top Scorer - M. Rainer broke the deadlock just 5 minutes to the end of the game.

It might be the most fascinating won for this as everyone played enormously hard with the risk of hyperthermia.

Greatly thanks to all the players who gave the best to the team on this game:
Ming, Fast Horse, OK Man, Kwan, Ho, Martin Rainer, Martin Gattinger, Chris Chan, Ernest Kwok, Roman, Felix

30th June: Friendly Match Against Oregon Scientific

Swarovski 5 - 0 Oregon Scientific

Swarovski humilated Oregon Scientific with a 5-0 mauling, in the first meeting between those 2 teams, held last Saturday morning, at the Shun Li Football Field.

The Swarovski goals were scored by Martin Gattinger, Martin Rainer, Ernest Kwok and Kenneth Wong.

Oregon missed the opportunity of opening the score on first 20 minutes, after loan striker Wilson Cheung shot from short range, striking the ball too lightly to the right of keeper Angus Wong, who made the save with ease.

This fright set the Swan into action and they began to pile the pressure on the Oregonians. As a result of this change, Martin Gattinger managed to take the lead after being teed up.

This was the first goal of the Austrian Striker but the goal did not change the attitude of the Swan, who continued to set a slow pace in midfield, despite the efforts of Ernest, the only player to try his luck against the Oregon goal.

The Swan began in top speed, midfield Kenneth grabbed a brace to make it 2-0.

The Swan tried to hit back playing deep, but left gaps behind for their opponents, who played on the counter. That was how Martin Rainer claimed his goal by beating the Goalie 1-on-1.

The Paraguayans made the most of their indecision to add a fourth with Kenneth Wong, on 60 minutes. Ernest Kwok closed the scoring 10 minutes before the end of the match to make it 5-nil.

Everyone commited well and gave their best to the team, especailly the coach-player Alan dominant the defense line with Ho, Kwan, OK Man and Tak. Teamwork is shown during the game and this each with accurate passing and tight defense.

Roman's debut also boomed the offense side of the Swan.

16th June: Friendly Match Against China Team

Swarovski 3 - 2 China

Swarovski beat China with five-goal thriller.

Swarovski continued the unbeaten streak as on loan striker Raymond scored a late goal to seal a controversial 3-2 win at competitor on Saturday morning.

4 players (Lok, Kim, Raymond and Goalie Percy) had been brought in to the team on a match loan for the Swan and all of them contributed a lot to the team. With the on loan players - Lok and Kim, they definitely improved both in offense and defense to the squad.

China Team went ahead with a fast break after only 20 minutes from the start. This has wrecked the Swan defense and offense into 2 parts, the best warning to the home side.

Swarovski, who have now unbeaten for 5 successive games, equalised when Martin Rainer scored from 20 yards just before second-half.

After the break, the China Team pushed forward and they got their reward 5 minutes after later by putting them ahead.

Nevertheless, Swarovski failed to get a goal they craved, they played some good football and displayed a never-say-die attitude. The Swarovski Coach-Player Alan Li made a few crucial tackles which prevented another conceded goal.

Swan almost got an equalised goal with 20 minutes remaining. A mild cross from the corner by Kenneth and Midfielder Ming almost headed in to the left side of the goalie – but this was blocked by our teammate Wilson Cheung. Though he tended to escape for it , the power shot was toooooooo quick to hide.

Nice passing and spirit all got filled up by the Swarovski and it paid in the 80th minutes. Kenneth scored from 18 yards while the China Team played a sloppy clear just outside the penalty box.

Swarovski gained the rhythm of the game and the loan striker – Raymond scored the winning goal just 5 minutes before full time.

This secured the victory for Swarovski over China and the unbeaten run continues.

‘Teamwork is shown during the game and the spirit is high during the game,’ said Lok.

‘We should have won more, we need more shots from the outsides,’ said Alan.

‘Our team getting better and better after games we played, and definitely we have more team work than ever,’ concluded Kenneth.

2nd June: Friendly Match Against Convoy Financial Group

Swarovski 3 - 3 Convoy

Swarovski forward Wilson Cheung conceded his side were 'severely punished' for making mistakes during their 3-3 draw with Convoy.

The game was held in Happy Valley Artificial Grass Pitch from 11:00-1:00pm. Weather was extreme hot but all the the players are fully equiped for this fascinating game.

The Swarovskis' threw away the lead on a few occasions in a pulsating encounter at Happy valley, although the point gained has at least gave them some encouragement.

Hot Rod Striker Wilson Cheung score a superb 20 yards home opener after just 15 minutes from the start, and third in successive matches.

But the lead lasted just 30 minutes as Convoy captain Gordon Li set up Lok to score his first before half time. The goal was actually went in after the half time whistle but this has to be counted somehow.

'The manner in which we conceded the goal is very disappointing,' added Ernest.

Some changes have been made after the half break and the Swarovski Goalie switched from Angus to Ian. He did make a few descent saves in the first 10 minutes of his performance. In 55 minutes, the Convoy skipper scored from 35 yards volley and the ball went in to the goalie with a no mercy.

"Undoubtly this was a powershot from the other side but we should have not conceded this goal" Admitted Kenneth the Swarovski Goal Hungur.

Sloppy defense appeared to the Swarovski side as they conceded another goal in 10 minutes later. Convoy's Lok score from six yards box due to the ball couldn;t clear out on time.

Swarovski side seems awake after the third goal and all the players were more agressive than ever. Teamwork has shown up with some nice passing. The work get paid off on the 75th minutes, Martin Gattinger passed the defender in the left hand side and he then pass with a low cross to the middle. Convoy;s defender was not able to have a clear and the defender clear the ball to his own goalie. The score turned to Convoy 3 - 2 Swarovski.

The Swarovski side keep putting enormous pressure on the winning side and Martin Rainer should have score on some of the shots. Nevertheless, on the 82th minutes, Swarovski score a fast break goal by Kenneth Wong and earn a very priceless point for the home side.

'We knew we would have to make them work hard for their goals, but we didn't. We made mistakes and got severely punished. 'But that was as well as we have played for a long time going forward. We were excellent.

'In the cold light of a day that point might just be the one that keeps us up.' The Swarovski Goalkeeper Angus Said.

"The ground is so slippery that I couldn;t really handle the ball well enough to the Goal. We could have made it easier on ourselves, but not today. For the neutral it was probably a terrific game. " Said Lok from Convoy.

'We had never won the Convoy, and we did not want to lose today. It's hard to play during this hot hot hot weather and really appreciated on all the participants. At the moment, we are still trying to compose our form and we definitely will play better in the upcoming matches."Said Kenneth

12th May: Friendly Match Against Bayer Group

Swarovski 2 - 2 Bayer

A day under the hot sun behind the humid scenes ended with a 2-2 draw against opponent Leverkusen again courtesy of Martin Rainer's injury-time strike at Happy Valley.

Bayer led twice through Sandman and Superman, and only two goals from Martin Rainer denied them an unexpected chance of victory.

Swarovski Fans had suggested the burning weather could affect the home team with only just 10 players for a 9 against 9 game , yet the Crystallized fighters showed their character to come from behind to have a final draw.

There was little in the way of goalmouth action before Sandman broke the deadlock, although Martin Rainer had a sight of goal with less than 2 minutes gone from the match kicked off.

Sandman played the ball forward with Kwan and Ray made a handful of their clearance magnificently. First shoot from Bayer was a Batman scooping an awkward ball over Wilson, who played as goalkeeper at the beginning, but failing to direct it on target.

Martin was driving Swarovski forward from midfield in the early stages and had a speculative effort from long range that did not offer encouragement of him scoring his third goal for the club, up to that moment though.

The visitor scored the first goal of the day with Batman got the ball in from the right, and Sandman saw a stabbed shot clip defender Kwan, with Ernest beaten by the six-yard effort.

Martin Gattinger had been struggling with a flu this week but the risk was justified and the Austrian striker extended his recent record to a power presence in the attacking department for the second consecutive matches. His header increased the intensity although he was denied a couple of scoring chances along with his striking partner Wilson.

Skipping Kenneth was out for the first time and his replacement Andrew showed quality passes from the right, although the home fans were sure missing their captain.

But the home team was not to be denied their equaliser and levelled in the 20th minute when Martin floated a long shot to the far post and finished past Spiderman, his third goal of the season.

Martin then had a shot blocked on the edge of the area as Swarovski chased a second. It got worse for Andrew when he scooped another chance over the bar after Ernest had dummied a Martin cross from the left.

Wilson struck straight the goalie in first-half stoppage time after exchanging passes with Andrew on the right flank.

Bayer continued to attack while Swarovski defended brilliantly with a lead by Ming and with several counter-attacks led by the Martins that nearly finished Bayer off. Spiderman together probably had brought all his spells and had stopped two clear shots from Wilson in the second-half.

But Swarovski was soon behind again, this time when Sandman's set piece was eventually swung in, Superman met it firmly with a shot and with a minor deflect from Ming, the third goalkeeper of the day Gary is helpless to stop.

Martin had a half-chance in the Third half when Ho's long-throw was flicked on by Rocketeer but his fellow centre-back could just get over the ball and cleared the danger.

The impressive Spiderman then had to be alerted to half-block a Martin shot after Wilson's quickly-taken corner.

Sandman then rose highest to meet substitute Greyman's corner but turned his header wide at the far post.

Time went go under the 30 degrees condition and it seemed the two teams were so exhausted. However, with seconds remaining Martin picked the ball up 40 yards out and drilled into the bottom corner with a fierce drive just at the edge of the penalty area.

Debutant Right-Back Ray: 'To come back as we did a point felt like it was the winner. The late goal gave us a lift. Consider we had only get 10 players it was an exceptional result, but of course we could do even better.'We are conceding goals but we are scoring them too and that means we are still on course for a bright season.'

5th May: Friendly Match Against Bayer Group

Swarovski 6 - 4 Bayer

Martin Rainer hit two goals to beat Bayer. Swarovski secured their victory with a stunning comeback win at Happy Valley.

Swarvoski Crystallized roared back from one goal down to wrap a firm hand around the Super League season opener by beating Bayer Leverkusen 6-4 at Happy Valley.

As if to rub salt into the Bayer wounds - Swarovski newly-appointed skipper Kenneth Wong blasting the equaliser tearing the rigid defence with his speed and goalkeeper to give Crystallized hope that makes the home crowd starting its gear.

It was another 'old boy' who came up with the devastating blow - Martin Rainer ramming the taunts of the Bayer fans back down their throats with his first two goals of the season.

There was no sign of what was to come when Batman rasped home a brutal counter attack to put Bayer ahead early on and when Elasticboy nearly belted home a second within minutes, Crystallized were on the ropes.

But, as others now knows, player-coach Alan and his team are never more dangerous than when their backs are pressed up against the wall. It proved to be a fairly accurate assessment of the situation too as Chris and Kenneth collected the ball from Martin and Ming before the break, attacked Bayer along the flanks with the usual directness and slammed the ball towards the dangerous zone with huge possession.

Even without injured striker Gary Prince and keeper Clone Cech, the visitors were determined to lay on a performance fit for the occasion.

Batman had already gone close with a header which flicked off the crossbar, which Angus could brilliantly keep out after it had flicked off Kevin.

Wilson was onto the loose ball in a flash, darted not just to the by-line but down it, then picked out Kenneth with a fine cut-back which invited the Skipper's precise finish bypassing two central defenders and unleashing a snapshot which Spiderman could hardly do anything.

As from this moment on the world is working in Crystallized's favour anyway, Alan's discovery of the second White Devils goalscorer would only have fuelled his opponent¡¦s paranoia.

Martin Rainer, who re-joined his old-teammate after a 4 months loan spell at Tirolean Wackers made ease of an horrific defence error from a poor goal kick and slashed home into the roof of the net for his first goal of the season.

There was a bit more huff and puff from Alan's side before half-time though, before Martin doubled Swarvoski's lead with a thunderous effort after he had collected Kenneth's pass, then scored at the far post of Wes Spiderman.

Martin had again a clear chance through a mistake from Leverkusen defender Sandman, who slipped when chasing down a long ball, leaving himself to poke it past goalkeeper Wes Spiderman. However, just as he was preparing to celebrate, the ball bounced back off the left-hand post and bounced to safety.

But hope came quickly for the visitors, and so did Batman, after some sloppy defence that inexplicably dropped Elasticboy's corner at Batman¡¦ feet, allowing the German to bundle home to get back 3-2 in the beginning of the 2nd half.

Sandman looked certain to level when he left Kwan on the edge of the area, then lifted a shot over Angus, only for his old mate Ian to get his body in the way.

But the finish line was not a long way off for Bayer and the game was flowing totally towards the home side¡¦s goalie, only after several great saves from Angus and rigid defence from Kevin and Alan.
Leverkusen drew level on the half-hour mark when Andrew's shot deflected off Swarovski defence, and Batman was on hand to fire the rebound home. It was 3-3.

There was more to come for Crystallized and their story writers, as the winner - and potential title-clincher, curled in off Wilson's boot 20 minutes from time with a long shoot into the bottom left corner.

Wilson still had plenty of work to do when Martin's far-post cross landed at his feet. But, on a difficult day from a personal perspective, the shot was inches wide.

Minutes later Swarovski made it 5-3, again Spiderman was involved, although he could not do much more than get in the way of Wilson's firm header as he rose to meet Kenneth's corner.

Only Spiderman's reflex save prevented Martin Gattinger getting his own name on the score sheet for the first time this season as a reward for his dreadful attack. It¡¦s not a lucky day for him though.
But just when it began to look like honours would be celebrated, Batman hit Bayer's fourth with a 12-yard screamer in the 63rd minute after a decent pass from Andrew to pull a one-goal deficient.
Chris added another in stoppage time after Martin had supplied the pass and then made a neat touch, the celebrations really began.

o Alan hails vital Wilson goal

Swarovski Crystallized player-coach Alan Li believes Wilson's goal was the turning point for his side in their 6-4 win at home.

They had to battle back from 1-0 down to spark a fightback including strikes from Martin Rainer and Wilson Cheung.

Skipper Kenneth said: ¡§This will be a tough season but with the combustive players in both the attacking and defending department, I am quite optimistic that we can break the record of 6 successive wins in a row in year 2005. With debutant goalie Angus played an important role and with firm partnership with Alan and Fast Horse. At that point I feel we really had a chance.

"I'm very pleased. It is a terrific result for us against a Bayer team which is a very good team and make you work all day"
